London Invasive Species Initiative
Green infrastructure and open environments: The all London green grid. Supplementary planning guidance, published by the Mayor of London in March 2012, states in relation to the London Invasive Species Initiative (LISI) that: ‘Whilst most non-native species in London do not pose a threat to biodiversity, invasive non-native species can cause significant impact on the diversity of specific species and habitats across the city. The London Invasive Species Initiative identifies and prioritises specific species that pose a concern, collates monitoring data on the spread of invasive species, provides advice, raises awareness and coordinates action on the ground.’
